Self Drive Rental License Requirements

As laid down by Australian law the following licenses are required to drive the following vehicles:

  • 10-13 seats – C-Class licence (same as car)
  • 13-24 seats – LR-Class licence
  • 24+ seats – MR-Class license
  • HR-Class license – vehicle that has 3 or more axles and a gross vehicle mass greater than 8,000kg.

To hire any vehicle from Low-Cost Self Drive you must produce a current, valid-for-vehicle driving license. If you do not hold the appropriate level of license and require a larger vehicle then our bus hire with driver services will be more suited to you. 

All our vehicles can be hired for short of long term to suit your requirements, and all drivers who wish to take advantage of our Self Drive service must be over 21.
